BYSA wishes to extend congratulations and good luck to two Bristol Youth soccer teams on their way to Orlando, Florida to compete in the 3v3 Kick-It World Championships. On January 19-21, the U-9 Girls Bristol Mustangs and U-7 Girls Bristol Cyclones will be playing at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex.
The 3v3 Kick-It tournament is a fast paced, small sided game with no goalies. In this format, players must consistently transition between offense and defense. The teams have already competed in tournaments in Hartford, CT and New Brunswick, NJ on their march to Orlando.
Members of the Mustangs Kick-It team are Chrissy Conley, Caleigh Duffy, Alex Pires, Carlie Rochefort, Samantha Tyler and Lexi Winnes. They are coached by John Tyler and Chris Winnes. There are 38 teams in the U-9 girls competitive division and the Mustangs are scheduled to play teams from Troy MI, Garland TX, Mundelein IL and Castle Rock CO in pool play.
Members of the Cyclones Kick-It team are Jenna Cimbron, Kerrie Larson, Sawyer Levesque, Sarina Olson and Georgia Teixeira. They are coached by Kris Larson and Rob Cimbron. There are 25 teams in the U-7 girls open division and the Cyclones are scheduled to play teams from Guildford IN, Frisco TX, Marvin NC and Yardley PA in pool play.
As well as the two teams Melanie DaSilva from the U12 Bristol Colts is also participating in the event for her Premier Club.
We hope that the experience is memorable and fun for all and hope that the girls can return as World Champions!!
