Bristol Youth Soccer Association will be holding 2017-2018 Fall/Winter/Spring Soccer evaluations for the U8-U14 on Monday, June 26th and Wednesday June 28th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Bristol Town Beach and Sports Complex Fields. Please note this may be the only evaluations this year. U8-U10 does not have to attend on Wednesday, June 28th. Evaluations are primarily to identify and assess players who intend on playing travel soccer. All U8-U14 players are welcome and encouraged to attend.
We strongly encourage every player to come to evaluations. It helps us ensure that every player is fairly evaluated and placed on a team that will play with an appropriate level of competition. Although this is not a requirement, it is definitely our recommendation to attend the sessions. Players coming out as goalkeepers should identify themselves on evaluation nights. Please note that players who chose not to attend evaluations, or are not selected to play for a 'Select' team, may be placed on a 'balanced' team. We will determine the competitive and balanced team for each division and season from evaluations. Registration for the Fall season will open early July.
Please click here to register for evaluations .
On the day of evaluations, player should:
Arrive 20-30 mins early to register and warm up
Wear cleats, shin pads and training gear. They should NOT wear club team shirts.
Bring a water bottle and a ball (with their name on them)
Be ready to play and have fun
Work hard for the entire evaluation
Let the evaluators know if they are interested in playing as goalie
On the day of evaluations, parents should:
Arrive 20-30 mins early to drop off your player, allow them time to register and warm up
Encourage them to have fun
Remind them to let the evaluators know if they are interested in playing as goalie
Return at the designated finish time to pick them up
Try NOT to ask them how they did (they usually don't know). The weight of your hopes/expectations can weigh heavily on a kid
Ask them if they had FUN instead
If you have any questions or if a player cannot attend on the assigned dates due to injury or a major conflict , please contact Dennis Matos at president@bristolyouthsoccer.com and Tony Brum at compdir@bristolyouthsoccer.com .
